Capital Projects Accounting manages the accounting and financial aspects of UC Berkeley Capital Projects and Project Renovation Requests (PRRs) in accordance with the Financial Accounting and Controls set forth by the Controller’s Office, and provides a full range of services from project creation and funding to final project closeout in conjunction with Plant Accounting, Disbursements, and other campus entities.

What We Do

  • Utilize fund accounting principles to manage project expenses and monitor and meet fund expiration deadlines
  • Monitor capital projects and PRRs for any anticipated or realized project or fund overdrafts
  • Provide Accounts Payable services including processing, analyzing, reconciling, and problem-solving related to Capital Projects and PRRs
  • Work in partnership with Plant Accounting to secure project funding, prepare loan draws, and finalize Capital Project closeouts
  • Reconcile project activity across the general ledger and project management systems to meet campus financial controls
  • Oversight of daily integrations between BFS and project management systems
  • Process monthly recharges and provide statement of expenses associated with PRRs to campus clients
